Editor's Review
American Girl’s Kit Kittredge was first introduced in 2000. With a birthdate of May 19, 1923, Kit’s story takes place during the Great Depression. And that means that 2023 is Kit’s 100th birthday! Celebrate this special occasion with the American Girl Kit Kittredge’s Special Edition Birthday Collection. The 18-inch doll matches the original doll, with bobbed blonde hair that is styled with a green barrette. She also wears a crocheted cloche hat. This doll’s outfit consists of a short-sleeved lavender sweater and matching long-sleeved lavender cardigan. Her pleated linen skirt features a floral print, and her canvas T-strap sandals are ivory-hued. Additional accessories include a golden-metal compass necklace, a woven purse with embroidered flowers, a cloth handkerchief, and a replica metal Buffalo nickel coin. Read about Kit’s story all over again in the Meet Kit book that features a 100th birthday introduction by author Valerie Tripp.
