Just when we thought they had all been caught, Nintendo releases a fifth generation of Pokémon creatures into the wild. This Sunday (March 6, 2011), Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version will arrive in stores with never-before-seen Pokémon characters in a new storyline and new region. The new Legendary Pokémon (pictured above) include Reshiram (Pokémon Black) and Zekrom (Pokémon White).
In addition to the new Pokémon characters, there are several new multi-player features built into the game that sound really cool. One allows you to quickly connect with friends to battle and/or trade and will also let you use the Wi-Fi Connection to find out what other players are in your general vicinity and where they are in the game. Another new feature is a random matchup option that will have you face off against randomly selected opponents from around the world.
Pokémon Black and Pokémon White (two separate games) arrive in stores this Sunday. Both games are rated Everyone and will cost $34.99. The two games will also be sold in special DSi bundles that include the game and a black or white DSi with an exclusive case, which will retail for $180.00.
