DIY Kids Birthday Party on a Budget

Throwing a birthday party that will wow your friends and family is a lot easier than you may think. You can also pull it off with a limited budget. One fun way that you can help keep the cost down is to make your own decorations. I mean, what child wouldn’t love to see a birthday banner with her name on it? Sure, you can pick up one of those generic “Happy Birthday” signs at the dollar store, but why do that when making a personalized one is really simple and cheap? As long as you have a printer, some paper, and string (or ribbon), you are good to go!

Thanks to the explosion of DIY and craft blogs over the last few years, you can easily find some free party printables just by searching for them on Google or Pinterest. Just because they’re free doesn’t mean that you are going to get something cheap or cheesy. I have found some amazing free party printables over the years. I’ve even been fortunate enough to make and design my own now, and no birthday at my house goes by without a custom birthday banner.

Birthday Banner

Birthday banners aren’t the only party decorations that you can do yourself. There are invitations, candy bar wrappers, cupcake picks, drink flags, food labels, and a whole lot more!

Today I’m sharing with you a free printable birthday banner set—perfect for a boy or girl—along with some coordinating cupcake picks (or toppers). The set come complete with the numbers 0–9 and letters A–Z. You will also get pink-and-white-striped cupcake picks (for girls) and blue-and-white-striped cupcake picks (for boys). I’ve also included some banner blanks in case you want to add your own letters and really make it your own.
