OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

Invite some bug friends over to play when you decorate and hang the Beetle & Bee Garden Paint A Bug Abode. Bugs will be snug as a, well, bug inside this wooden bug house with holes for them to crawl through. The set includes a bug house with nylon rope hook, eight paint pots, and one paintbrush. Paint the bug house however you want and experiment with mixing the colors to make new colors. Let the bug house dry, and then find a good spot to hang it outside and observe bug life.

Is It Fun?

This is a creative craft for kids who like to play outdoors and who aren't afraid of bugs. We like that the hook comes pre-attached so all you have to do is paint, dry, and hang. This is a fun and hands-on way for kids to observe the creepy crawlers living in their backyards.

Who It’s For

The Paint A Bug Abode is for ages 5 and up.

What To Be Aware Of

The instructions say that if your paint seems dry, use water to rehydrate. Our red paint was fine, but the blue and yellow paint in both paint pots was a bit thick. Water helped a little bit. We couldn't even use the white paint in either paint pot because it was so dry it was hard. Water did not help.

The wooden bug house measures 9.5 x 2.5 x 5.5.
