EDITOR'S REVIEW
OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

There's a whole new way to build with LEGO and it's called LEGO Dots. Instead of building specific models, LEGO Dots is more of an arts and crafts line with a variety of different things kids can build and customize.

Design your own bracelets with the variety of colorful bracelet kits: Rainbow, Love Birds, Funky Animals, and Cosmic Wonder. Each bracelet comes in a different color with different themed Dots pieces and charms. Build your designs right on the bracelet. There's also a Bracelet Mega Pack that comes with five bracelets and 295 assorted tiles, including 20 surprise charms.

Larger craft kits include Pencil Holder, Desk Organizer, and Picture Frame, each sold separately. Build each model following the instructions, and then get creative to add patterns and designs to the finished product. These are all totally usable, so you can store your pens and pencils in your pineapple pencil holder, keep desk items organized in the organizer with drawer, and display your favorite photos in the three picture frames.

And if you need extra Dots for adding even more designs, you can collect those along with 10 surprise charms in Extra Dots packages.

Is It Fun?

Crafty kids will love getting creative with LEGO Dots. We like that the line ranges from jewelry to desktop items, and that the larger kits include storage and sorting trays to make building easier. And all the crafts are super easy to change up whenever kids want a new look.

Who It’s For

LEGO Dots are for ages 6 and up.

What To Be Aware Of

It took us 30 minutes to build the picture frames. It was tricky figuring out the sizing of the photos to make them fit in the frames. The other sets might take longer or less time, depending on your skill level and how intricate you get with the designs.
