J.K. Rowling Returning to Potter-Verse in ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’

J.K. Rowling and Warner Bros., are returning to the world of Harry Potter through a new series of movies called, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

The new franchise will take place in the world that Rowling created for the Harry Potter books, however, the story will begin 70 years before Potter’s story. The title, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” is the title of a textbook at Hogwarts, written by Newt Scamander (a fictional character of Rowling’s). The first movie will introduce Newt and take place in New York City.

The new movies will not be a prequel or sequel to the Potter series. According to a statement from Rowling, “Although it will be set in the worldwide community of witches and wizards where I was so happy for seventeen years, ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the Harry Potter series, but an extension of the wizarding world.”

Rowling will write the screenplay for the Potter spin-offs, which is a first for the famous author.

It doesn’t look like any info on a release date has been announced yet. We will keep an eye on this story and keep you up to date with news as we get it. In the meantime, follow me on Twitter, , for more movie news.
