In Theaters: Pompeii, 3 Days

It’s not exactly a family-friendly weekend at the box office with the two new major movies, Pompeii and 3 Days to Kill, both being rated PG-13. It could be a great weekend to see The LEGO Movie for the first time if you haven’t seen it yet or for the 2nd (maybe 3rd) time if you loved it as much as everyone at TTPM.

I suppose you could look at Pompeii as a historical drama but from everything that I’ve seen, its more of a disaster flick set in ancient times. That  means teens and tweens (and me) will probably want to see it. The reviews haven’t been great (32% on Rotten Tomatoes) but people that have seen it seem to be enjoying it.

Rated PG-13 (for intense battle sequences, disaster-related action and brief sexual content)
Runtime: 1 hr. 42 min

3-days-to-kill

3 Days to Kill, which looks like a Liam Neeson movie but stars Kevin Costner, is an action-thriller that is directed by McG (Charlie’s Angels, Supernatural). Its ratings are even worse than Pompeii with a 28% on Rotten Tomatoes, but it looks like it could be a decent action-flick.

Rated PG-13 (for intense sequences of violence and action, some sensuality and language)
Runtime: 1 hr. 40 min.
