2013 hasn’t been delivering too many family-friendly releases so far, which is why this weekend’s Jack The Giant Slayer has the potential to be a huge hit. It also doesn’t hurt that the movie looks like a fun action/adventure flick.
The Giant Slayer is the latest fairy tale to received the Hollywood makeover and re-imagines the story of Jack And The Beanstalk as an epic battle adventure. In the movie, Jack (a young farmer played by Nicholas Hoult) accidentally opens a portal to another realm filled with warrior giants who are eager to conquer Jacks world. The movie is directed by Bryan Singer (X-Men) and stars a great cast including, Stanley Tucci, Ewan McGregor and Nicholas Hoult who played Beast in X-Men: First Class.
Here’s the latest trailer:
Jack The Giant Slayer is rated PG-13 for intense scenes of fantasy action violence, some frightening images and brief language. It’s in theaters nationwide today and has a running time of 114 minutes.
