According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony Pictures Animation has acquired the rights to ALF, the 1980s sitcom about an obnoxious alien Muppet living in the suburbs. Apparently, Sony plans to make a CG/live action movie, ala last summer’s hit, Smurfs.
The producer of the Smurfs will be working with ALF’s creators Tom Patchett and Paul Fusco. Fusco was the voice of ALF on the sitcom and is reportedly set to do the voice again for the new movie.
No details yet on when we can expect to see this movie but rest assured, I’ll be keeping an eye out for any ALF-related news.
