Box Office, Strong Debuts From No Good Deed & Dolphin Tale 2

No Good Deed, a mystery/thriller, debuted in #1 with an impressive $24.5 million. That’s the second best September debut ever. #1 belongs to the 3D re-release of The Lion King. Opening in 2nd place was the family-friendly sequel, Dolphin Tale 2, which debuted to $16.6 million. With no direct competition opening and decent reviews, Dolphin Tale 2 should continue to perform well.

After three weeks in a row at #1, Guardians of the Galaxy dropped to #3 with another $8 million earned at the box office. Guardians glided past the $300 million mark in North America, and has now taken in $305.9 Million. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles followed Guardians in 4th. The Ninja Turtles total to date is now $181 million.
