Box Office, Guardians Gets Groove Back

Guardians of the Galaxy rocketed back to #1 in it’s fourth weekend in theaters with another $17.6 million earned. Guardians, and it’s total take of $251.9 million, has now claimed the title of  summer 2014’s highest grossing movie and the only summer movie to make it to the quarter-billion mark. There were four of those last summer. Guardians is on it’s way to earning more than Captain America: The Winter Soldier (a spring release) and The LEGO Movie to become the top-grossing movie for all of 2014.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles had another strong weekend. After spending two weeks at #1, the movie moved down to #2 with another $16.8 million earned at the box office.
