Box Office: Gravity Rockets to Top

Gravity easily took the top spot on the list with $55.6 million in it’s opening weekend. The Sandra Bullock, George Clooney space film looks great and is getting some out-of-this-world reviews, which should help it stick around for a while.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 dropped to #2 with another $21.5 million. The Cloudy sequel has now earned an impressive, $60.6 million. You can read the review of the movie here and check out my review of the Online game here.

Two other new movies opened over the weekend but neither amounted to much, which is surprising considering that one of them, Runner Runner, stars  Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake. The drama/thriller bombed with $7.6 million. The other new release, Pulling Strings, opened in 9th with $2.5 million.
