Box Office, Fault in Stars Easily Edges to Top

The Fault In Our Stars, the PG-13 film based on the best-selling romance novel, easily claimed the #1 spot on the box office list with $48 million in it’s opening weekend. Last week’s #1, Maleficent, dropped to #2 with an impressive $34.3 million earned in it’s second weekend of release. The weekend’s other new release had a far from impressive opening as Tom Cruise’s latest big-budget, sci-fi flick, Edge of Tomorrow, only earned $28.8 million and the #3 spot on the list.
