Puss In Boots saw a incredibly rare 3% drop in box office draw from the previous weekend, which kept the animated cat fancy flick firmly entrenched in first place. That 3% places Puss in the record books with one of the smallest drops ever for a non-holiday movie. The weekend’s two new releases, Tower Heist and A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas opened at the low end of expectations but still managed to perform fairly well. Neither movie managed to outperform it’s stars earlier films (Ben Stiller’s Meet the Parents, Eddie Murphy’s Norbit) or earlier movies in the series (Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay) so it will be interesting to see if they have staying power.
