The future of magnetic building play is bright thanks to the new Connetix Light Star Pack and Bright Portal Pack. Each is sold separately and is for ages 3 and up.
The Connetix Light Star Pack comes with 28 pieces and features a light-up tile, which contains a rechargeable lithium battery and charging cable. You’ll probably need to charge it before first use. Using the colorful pentagons, squares, and triangles, kids can follow the instructions to build a star that lights up. Or kids can add these pieces to other Connetix sets to build something else!
The Bright Portal Pack comes with 48 different colored and sized squares. Pictures in the guidebook provide building inspiration, or kids can use the pieces to build whatever they want. The squares can be nested together, with the large tiles featuring an open-frame design and the smaller squares featuring Smart-Spin technology that allows the inner magnets to rotate 360 degrees for building in new directions.

Should I get it?
Young builders will like the sturdiness of these magnetic tiles as well as the variety of colors and shapes in each set. With the light-up tile, kids can make their creations shine – even turning them into a DIY nightlight. And the portal tiles allow for building in all-new ways. Both sets will inspire a lot of creativity.
