This is shaping up to be an exciting week for Nintendo’s DS. We started the week with news of a 3D DS arriving next year and will finish the week with the launch of the DSi XL.
Lets talk about that 3D DS first. Details are still scarce but what we know is that in March of 2011, Nintendo will release the Nintendo 3DS, which may or may not be the final product name. The 3DS will present games with 3D effects without the need for special glasses and it will include backward compatibility so that current DS and DSi series games can be played on it.
That’s all that we know for sure right now and will probably have to wait until E3 this Summer or news “leaks” for more info.
On to something we know for sure, the Nintendo DSi XL arrives in stores this Sunday, March 28, 2010. As the name implies, this is the new larger version of the DSi and includes all the goodies found in the DSi, like the dual screens, two camera lenses and web-browser, but puts them all in a larger case with two 4.2-inch LCD screens that are 93% larger than the DS Lite. The XL also comes with three games loaded in the memory including two Brain Age titles and something called Photo Clock. Check out latest gadget toys on TTPM’s tech toys video reviews page.
