Little Tikes Story Dream Machine Review

Bring stories to life with the Little Tikes Story Dream Machine. This easy-to-use device projects favorite stories onto a wall for a fun bedtime story experience. The projector unit comes with three Little Golden Book stories: The Poky Little Puppy, Tawny Scrawny Lion, and The Saggy Baggy Elephant. There’s also a Poky Little Puppy character figure that creates light effects when the projector is used in nightlight mode.

Let’s talk about the modes of play. When it’s storytime, choose a storybook cartridge and insert it into the projector. Press the play/pause button to play the story and audio. You’ll want to be two to six feet away from a wall for best results. And if the image is blurry, adjust the clarity by turning the focus lens right or left. While the story plays, you can use the arrow buttons to advance to the next page or go back to a previous page. The top and bottom buttons adjust the volume. 

If you place the Poky Little Puppy figure or any other character figure, sold separately, on top of the projector, it will activate light shows and colors on the film reel.

If you don’t have a story cartridge inserted, the projector can be used as a nightlight and white noise machine. Pressing down on the reel turns the nightlight on and off. Pressing the play/pause button starts the sounds. You can select from five different sounds: projector, ocean, brook, cricket, and music box.

The Story Dream Machine has space on the side for storing the story cartridges, and you can even reuse the package as a case to store and carry everything.
