The Gelstorm has quite an appealing design. It gives off a futuristic, sci-fi video game blaster kind of feel with the sharp edges, angles, and diagonal contours. There are multiple alternate colors of Gelstorm blaster available, including blue, green, and orange. Since we have the red model, we also got pink gel ball pellets. Soak them in water for 4 hours and you’ll have yourself some very unique ammunition. Careful with these pellets, once hydrated they bounce all over the place!

Charging the Gelstorm is a little bit spooky with the wires, but so long as it is switched off and away from water, you have nothing to worry about. Although the directions are a little inconsistent with how long to charge it…one to two hours’ worth should be plenty. Detach the USB adapter and store it in a safe and memorable place. Load the pellets in the hopper, screw it on, and wear the included safety goggles, then you’ll be ready to blast. Switch the Gelstorm on and press down the trigger for rapid fire action. This toy is like the marriage between water blasters and paintball blasters. The firing speed and distance is strong, so try not to get hit point blank! The pellets are biodegradable with exposure to air, so don’t worry about clean up too much! The pellets will keep fresh for up to 3 months in an airtight container, away from sunlight.
