Carrera GO!!! Build ‘N Race Car Race Track Set Review

The Carrera Go!!! Build ‘N Race set comes with everything you need to run your own race. Some assembly and prep is required out of the box. You’ll need to build the racetrack and sufficiently fray the contact wires on the bottom of each slot car. Once you’re done, you’ll also need a power source. The power cable isn’t exceptionally long, so you’ll need to make sure that an outlet is nearby. Plug in your controllers, set your cars on the track, and race away! These cars can get going very fast, so be careful not to spin out and crash! If your car is stopping and starting, make extra sure that your wires are in the correct shape, as referenced in the manual. If you need to change out the wires due to wear, you’re provided with extras.

The neat thing about these cars is that you can build on the base to create your own car, just use a building block from your brand of choice! The idea is a lovely one, but the execution is only ok. Add any more than 1 layer of bricks, and it seriously compromises the performance of the car, due to weight issues. If you want to have the best performance, stick with the included snap-on parts.
