What It Is
Zingo! Time-telling combines the classic game of Bingo with learning to tell time. The game, for two to six players, comes with 32 hour tiles, 32 minute tiles, six double-sided Zingo! Time-telling cards and a Zingo! Zinger. The green side of the cards is for beginners while the red side is for advanced players. Once you've loaded the hour and minute tiles into the Zingo! Zinger, each player takes a card and plays on whatever side they would like. Players don't have to use the same side. Then, slide the Zingo! Zinger forward and back to reveal two tiles. If you see an hour or minute tile that matches one of the spaces on your card, call out the number and increment (six hours or thirty minutes), take the tile, and cover the corresponding space on your card. Whenever you complete a clock by covering the spaces for both the hour and the minute, you must call out the entire time that the clock is showing. The first player to cover all eight spaces on his or her card shouts "Zingo!" and wins the game.
Is It Fun?
There are so many things we like about this game. First, it has two levels of play that allow kids to become familiar with the clock before progressing to a harder challenge. This also allows kids of different skill levels and ages to play together. We also like that the game cards show an analog clock and a digital clock, so kids can learn to make the translation between the two.
