What It Is

You know the holidays are coming when the new Holiday Barbie doll is unveiled. 2013 marks the 25th year that Mattel has created a Holiday Barbie, and the doll is as stunning as ever in a beautiful gown of sparkling silver, the perfect costume for a silver anniversary. The full ball gown has a tulle overlay, which is a nod to the 1988 Holiday Barbie that was a festive red with a tulle overlay. For 2013, the dress is accented with a snowflake pattern and a snowflake decoration on one shoulder. The doll is accessorized with a simple high heel pump and sparkly lavaliere earrings. A doll stand is also included.

Is It Fun?

Barbie fans old and new will be thrilled to add this to their collections. Whether you open up the doll or keep it in its package, this is a stunning edition to a holiday Barbie collection or a great way to begin one.

Who It’s For

The 2013 Holiday Barbie is part of the Barbie Collector Pink Label, which is targeted toward beginner doll collectors ages 6 and up. Of course, adult Barbie fans and collectors will want to add this doll to their collections, too.

What To Be Aware Of

Although a mint in-box Holiday Barbie from 1988 may be worth as much as $600 today, we always recommend collecting these because you love them rather than as an investment. Or at the very least an investment in the pleasure that this gorgeous doll will provide for this holiday season.
