Know It or Blow It is a trivia game that splits four or more players into two teams. The object of the game is to answer three levels of trivia to be the first team to reach the Winner space. Each of the game board's three trivia areas has its own set of cards: No Sweat, Breaking a Sweat, and Cold Sweat. A player from one team asks the other team a trivia question based on where the team's pawn is on the board. Your team might have to name the five main characters on Scooby-Doo or the four essential human freedoms outlined by FDR in 1941, for example. The answering team's captain picks the order that his teammates will respond. The first teammate answers first, then the second teammate, and so on. (If you need four answers but only have three teammates, the first teammate will answer again after the other teammates have answered.) If your team correctly guesses all the answers on the card, you'll earn two bonus points along with one point for each correct answer.
If you don't really know an answer, yet you still want your team to score some points, you can say "Don't know it!" and end your team's turn. Your team will still get points for any previous correct answers and move around the game board that number of spaces. If you guess incorrectly, you blew it and your team gets zero points for the round. This gives the other team the chance to guess the remaining answers and score points.
Play continues with teams taking turns asking each other trivia questions until one team reaches the Final Question space and correctly identifies all answers on a blue Cold Sweat card to move to the Winner space.
Know It or Blow It comes with 288 question cards, a game board, and two pawns.
This is a trivia game where you don't have to know it all. We like that the game gives players the option to still score points even if one player doesn't know the answer. (This also makes the game move a little faster.) But you do have to know when to take the chance with a guess or cut and run with the points so that you're not the teammate who blows it.
Know It or Blow It is for ages 10 and up.
The trivia cards do not contain any inappropriate content for kids. There will probably be some trivia that younger players will not be familiar with, but there's just as much trivia that will stump older players and adults. This game will challenge everybody who plays it, but that's part of the fun, along with learning a bunch of new things.
