Boho Bands Review (Alex)

What It Is

The Boho Bands jewelry making kit from Alex includes everything you need to create trendy bohemian-style beaded bracelets and anklets. First, you'll need to set up the portable foam loom. Depending on whether you make a bracelet or an anklet, place the loom holders in slot A or slot B, which is indicated in the instruction guide. Wrap some of the colored twine two to three times loosely around your wrist to estimate the length of your jewelry. Sting on a bead or a button in the middle of the twine and tie a knot below it. Place it on the loom. The bead will hold your cords in place as you weave on beads.

Cut either 50 or 76 centimeters of thread for your bracelet or anklet. Knot the thread, thread it through the needle, and press the needle through both pieces of twine near the top of the loom, wrap the thread a few times around and thread it back through to secure in place.

String on a bead. Weave it over the first strand of twine, then under the second so that the bead sits in the middle. Then thread the needle back over the second strand of twine and back through the bead to hold it in place.

Once you reach the end of your jewelry, wrap the thread a few times around both strands of twine, thread your needle through both strands and tie it off. Trim your bracelet as needed, knot off the twine, and voila.

Is It Fun?

This is a fun jewelry making kit to use and it gives you the satisfaction of making something that's not only wearable but also on-trend. However, the process requires a lot patience. All the working elements are extremely small so a steady hand is needed.

Who It’s For

Boho Bands is for ages 8 and up.

What To Be Aware Of

It will take about 45 minutes to an hour to complete one bracelet.

We wish this kit had better storage for the beads. Once you remove the lid for the tray, even the slightest nudge can send the beads flying. Just keep in mind that if you have young children or pets around, these beads can pose a choking hazard.
