Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Frozen Treat Maker Review (Little Kids, Inc.)

What It Is

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Frozen Treat Maker turns frozen fruit, juice, and yogurt into frozen treats. It comes with recipe cards for making Turtles-themed frozen treats, such as Ninja Power Punch, Pineapple Pizza Mutation, Turtle Shellraiser, Mutagen Ooze, and Sewer Shredder Surprise. You'll need to provide your own food ingredients, and most of the ingredients are frozen fruit, yogurt, and milk. Place your ingredients into the Frozen Treat Maker, and while pushing down on the plunger, turn the handle on the back. The treat will come out the front and fall into the cup. Once the cup is full, remove it and use the included spoon to eat your treat.

Is It Fun?

Our frozen treat didn't look appetizing, nor did it taste very good. The recipes don't have specific measurements, and the instructions were not clear. While this is designed as something kids can do themselves, younger kids might need adult assistance because turning the handle and pushing down on the plunger requires some strength. We also had issues putting this together and keeping it together while making our frozen treat.

Who It’s For

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Frozen Treat Maker is for TMNT fans ages 4 and up.

What To Be Aware Of

Assembly was difficult because we couldn't get the locking cap to lock in place. The first time we tried using this, the handle broke off and was difficult to get back on.

Because the recipes do not have specific measurements, and the preparation directions were not very clear, we improvised when making Sewer Shredder Surprise. We combined two containers of blueberry yogurt, ½ cup of chocolate chips, and ½ cup of frozen blueberries in a bowl, and then poured scoops of that mixture into an ice cube tray. We placed the tray in the freezer overnight, and then removed two cubes to put in the Frozen Treat Maker when we were ready to make our treat.
