Flash & Furious is a beat-the-clock game in which players are required to name items in a category pulled from one of the 588 included on the cards. The centerpiece of the game is the battery-operated flasher. To play, set the flasher unit in the middle of the table and turn it on. Then push one colored button for each player or team. One player pulls a card and pushes the center button. The colored light flashes for the person required to answer. The flashing is random, and you may have to answer two or three times before the turn passes. One player is referee in case of disputes, and the referee changes with each round. The player who can't answer before the flashing light switches (it gets faster as the round progresses), is stumped, or repeats an answer loses and gets the card. The player with the fewest cards at the end of the game wins. The game is for two to five players.
Overall, the level of fun for this game is going to depend on the people playing, particularly since it's fairly open-ended and subjective, which is why you have the referee. We wish the directions were a little clearer, but there's plenty of room for you to make up house rules. This is not exactly groundbreaking in terms of gameplay-there are many similar games out there-but the flashing unit does add a challenging degree of speed and randomness that makes this worth a shot.
