LEGO Star Wars Droid Gunship Review (LEGO)

What It Is

The LEGO Star Wars: Droid Gunship from LEGO is a 439-piece set that builds the Separatist's Droid Gunship from Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. The set also includes four minifigures of Chewbacca, a 41st Elite Corps Clone Trooper, a Super Battle Droid, and a Battle Droid.

The Droid Gunship is packed with buildable features. The cockpit area, that opens to fit a Battle Droid, has two laser cannon turrets, one medium laser cannon, and the whole thing detaches to become its own vehicle. The main body of the Gunship has movable flaps, two spring loaded missiles and six bombs that are dropped by pulling rear levers.

Is It Fun?

This is another great set in LEGO's Star Wars line that lets kids recreate the action from the movies or come up with their own stories. The multiple features also make it very playable.

Who It’s For

The set is intended for Star Wars fans, ages 8 to 14, but we think this could also be a hit with collectors of all ages because of the minifigures. We rarely see LEGO sets that come with Chewie and the Elite Trooper.

What To Be Aware Of

The directions are excellent, but make sure you follow them closely because the wing flaps are a little fragile if everything isn't attached properly. It took us about an hour and a half to complete the gunship.
