Magformers Designer Set Review (Magformers)

What It Is

If you're not yet familiar with Magformers, they're colorful construction sets with pieces featuring built-in magnets on each side so that the pieces snap and stay together easily. The Magformers Designer set includes 62 pieces: 22 squares, 20 triangles, 14 isosceles triangles, four diamonds, and two trapezoids in a variety of rainbow colors. To start, you place the shapes on a flat surface and connect them. Then slowly lift up on the flat model and watch the shapes automatically connect to one another creating a 3-D structure. An idea booklet is included that shows kids how to build 18 different structures from a rocket to a fox as well as pictures of additional 3-D models for inspiration. Of course, as with most construction toys, the best part is that kids can use their imaginations to build whatever they want.

Is It Fun?

Magformers sets encourage a lot of creative, open-ended play, while also teaching kids about the basics of building and magnetic force.

Who It’s For

The Magformers Designer Set is for ages 6 and up.

What To Be Aware Of

The pieces in this set can be combined with pieces in other Magformers sets, which are sold separately.
