In Elefun & Friends Mouse Trap, players try to be the first player to trap a mouse. Once the game board is assembled, players place their mouse friends at start. Then, players take turns spinning the cheesy spinner and moving their mouse friend to the next space that matches the color the spinner points to. If your mouse lands on a space with a red boot on it and there is a mouse in the cheesy trap area of the board, you get to launch the trap. Push down on the red arrow to make the boot kick the bucket and set off a chain reaction across the game board. If you trap a mouse, you win.
If your mouse lands on a red boot space and there is no mouse in the cheesy trap area, your turn is over and the next player can spin. If you launch the trap and a mouse isn't caught, reset the trap and keep scurrying around the board until someone gets trapped.
The game comes with three mouse figures, two marbles, a cardboard spinner, and all the components to set up the game board. Elefun & Friends Mouse Trap is for two to three players.
In the original Mouse Trap, building the trap was part of the play, but in this version, all the building takes place before you start playing, letting kids get to the real fun, trapping each other's mice, faster. Because this new version is for younger kids, it's a little easier to play than the original Mouse Trap. Kids will like that the game features some familiar Elefun & Friends characters.
Elefun & Friends Mouse Trap is for ages 4 and up.
Adult assembly is required, but it's much easier to put this game together than the original Mouse Trap game. Assembly took us 12 minutes.
