Hot Wheels Sharkport Showdown is designed to work with Hot Wheels Color Shifters Cars, and one car is included. To play, drive the car onto the ramp, and lower it into the warm water bath to change its color. Lift it up and send the car down the ramp, hoping to get past the shark and into the cold water bath to change the color back. If the shark catches your car, as it usually does, send another car down the track to release it in a very dramatic fashion.
The set comes with only one car, so you're going to have to add another to make the shark rescue work. Not that that's a problem. Most kids who love Hot Wheels have quite a few lying around.
Younger kids especially will be intrigued by the easy-to-operate mechanism and the surprising action that never gets old. While the shark-chomping action is really cool, for longer term play, you're going to want to add additional track to make a more elaborate play space. This connects to track in four different areas on the playset.
The Hot Wheels Sharkport Showdown is for ages 4 and up.
For best results when raising the car, you'll probably want to use another hand to steady the playset.
It took us about 15 minutes to assemble, and the directions were very clear.
