Sonic Lost World Review (Sega)

What It Is

Sonic Lost World from Sega is an action platformer game starring Sonic the Hedgehog. The game opens with Sonic and Tails chasing their nemesis, Doctor Eggman, who is kidnapping baby animals and turning them into an evil army. Don't worry about the baby animals because you have the chance to free them by defeating the enemies throughout the game.

Is It Fun?

There are seven initial worlds with four different zones in each. The levels have a familiar Sonic style to them but are all physics-defying worlds where Sonic can run up walls, circle floating land masses and launch across huge areas. Levels are filled with enemies that can only be defeated by spinning into them. When you successfully do a spin attack, the baby animal that was stuck inside the enemy is freed.

Who It’s For

This game is rated E10+ and while the content is fine for kids as young as 6, the game itself is challenging and is probably going to be enjoyed most by Sonic fans ages 10 and all the way up to adult.

What To Be Aware Of

This is a Wii U and 3DS exclusive. In the Wii U version, the game's tutorials are accessed on the GamePad. An icon will appear on the TV screen directing you to look at the gamepad, when you tap the matching icon on the GamePad screen, the game pauses and pulls up the tutorial info. You can ignore the tutorials by not tapping the icon.
