Tote & Trace Drawing Board Review (VTech)

What It Is

The Tote & Trace Drawing Board is a portable magnetic drawing board with some fun and educational features that make it different from the standard drawing tablets your child may have. It's electronic with sound and music, and features four different modes of play. A friendly voice encourages creativity or provides direction for more guided play. In the Musical mode, music plays as kids draw. When they stop drawing, the music stops. What to Draw mode gives kids ideas of what to draw (animals, fruit, or other objects), and then makes a sound related to that object. The board also comes with three stencils containing the letters of the alphabet to use in the Tracing Fun mode. Just attach one of the letter stencils to the board, and kids can practice tracing their letters. Finally, Free Draw functions like a standard drawing board and lets kids get creative on their own, drawing anything they like. Whichever mode you choose, the writing tool is attached to the device, and you can easily clear the board and start again any time you'd like just like a standard drawing tablet. This also includes storage for the stencils on the back.

Is It Fun?

In addition to promoting creativity, this also reinforces basic writing skills and promotes hand/eye coordination, all while keeping your child engaged. This is great for travel or at-home play.
