Touch & Swipe Baby Phone Review (VTech)

What It Is

Touch & Swipe Baby Phone is a baby-friendly play phone from VTech. This sturdy play phone features big touch-screen icons and an oversized slider and buttons, which are perfect for little fingers to easily press and swipe. Baby can swipe the slider left and right to switch between the two screens and modes of play: music mode and apps mode. In music mode, baby can press the play/pause, forward, and back button to move between the toy's built-in library of tunes and melodies. Press the instruments displayed on the screen to hear the sounds they make, which can be played along with the music.

Swipe the slider to the left to switch to apps mode, which features different light-up pretend apps. Baby can tap the numbered icons on the screen to place pretend phone calls or even record and save a home number to the phone. Simply press and hold the home button for three seconds, plug in your number, and press the star key to save it. Baby can also tap the buttons to practice numbers, ABCs, shapes as well as learn vocabulary about the weather, the different times of day, and more.

Is It Fun?

Between the educational features, simple yet sturdy design, and lights and sounds, we think this is an engaging toy for baby. And one that will certainly make him feel like mom and dad with his own phone. We also like the toy's home number feature, which we think is a great way to teach your child important phone numbers to know in case of an emergency.
