Herve Leger Barbie Review (Mattel)

What It Is

Herve Leger Barbie is the latest collectible Barbie doll from Mattel. This haute Barbie wears Herve Leger's iconic bandage dress that was first introduced in 1985 when Leger was inspired by scraps of fabric he found in his factory. None other than supermodel Cindy Crawford was the first to rock this dress, and it became a huge hit in the '80s and '90s. But, like all fashions, it had its day...at least until vintage Leger became so popular around 2007 that the dress was re-launched by Max Azria, which had previously bought the Leger label in 2008 and has become a classic fashion staple with new versions becoming standard in the Leger lines.

Barbie wears one of the original designs with thin straps and a leather harness. The bandage dress was always celebrated for its inherent simplicity and the unique way it accentuated the body. The doll comes with Leger accessories and a version of the equally famous Phoebe bandage dress.

Is It Fun?

Herve Leger Barbie is definitely for the adult fashion fan who will love adding this gorgeous doll and this iconic look to a doll collection.
