Barbie & Her Sisters in A Pony Tale Train & Ride Horse Review (Mattel)

What It Is

In the new DVD movie Barbie & Her Sisters in A Pony Tale, Barbie and her sisters head to the horse academy, where they become friends with some adorable animals. Barbie forms an instant connection with a wild horse she meets in the woods and discovers she has the ability to train the horse. The Train & Ride Horse playset celebrates the special bond between Barbie and her horse and lets kids play out the storyline from the movie. The playset includes a Barbie doll dressed in equestrian gear and a horse that really walks. When the Barbie doll is riding the horse, kids can press and hold the button on the horse's forehead to start the interactive fun. Once the horse starts moving, let go of the button, and then press it again to watch the horse walk forward about 10 steps. Press the button again, and the horse will bow. Press the button again, and the horse will stand back up.

Kids can also use the Barbie doll to control the horse's movements. Place the doll three feet in front of the horse. Raise the doll's right arm, and the horse will start walking. Lower Barbie's right arm to a horizontal position to make the horse stop. When you lower Barbie's right arm all the way, the horse will bow. Raising the doll's right arm back to a horizontal position will cause the horse to stand back up.

Is It Fun?

This is a really cool horse and doll playset. Kids will love that the horse walks on its own, but they'll also love being able to play out scenes from the movie by using the doll as the horse's remote control. This is a fun and interactive way to engage kids in imaginative play.
