Lil’ Critters Soothe & Surprise Light Review (VTech)

What It Is

Sleep can be hard to come by when you have a newborn at home. But the Lil' Critters Soothe & Surprise Light can help with that. This is a light projector and crib light that plays music and nature sounds and attaches easily to any crib rail. This crib light features three modes of action. In Crib Light mode, the front screen lights up with soft colors that create glowing patterns that highlight the animals depicted. In Projector mode, you have a choice of two projections that can be projected onto the ceiling. In the Music Player mode, more than 40 melodies and songs are played to soothe your baby to sleep. There are also nature sounds, volume control, a time selector switch for 10, 20, or 30 minutes of music, and a built-in sound sensor that activates when your baby cries.

Why Is It Useful?

Establishing regular sleep patterns for babies is essential to ensuring that both baby and parents keep their sanity. Setting up a consistent pattern for sleeptime is very important, especially in those early months. While this is a practical tool for your baby's nursery, we also like the developmental benefits it has to offer. The lullabies and rhymes encourage early speech recognition, which helps language development. Soft sounds are great for auditory senses, and the ceiling projection as well as the soft light-up screen help with visual awareness. Overall, this is a useful product to have in the nursery to set up a soft and relaxing atmosphere for baby to sleep.
