iTrax Review (Learning Resources)

What It Is

iTrax is a fast-paced and eye-catching game where players race to build what they see. The game comes with eight multi-colored cubes and 36 multi-colored rods along with 25 double-sided game cards. The cards are divided into three difficulty levels: ace (beginner), whiz (moderate), and brainiac (hard). To play, each player gets two cubes and nine rods, three of each length. Choose your difficulty level and place those cards in a pile in the center of the playing space. All players quickly look at the top card to find the one path on the card that connects two cubes and then recreate it in front of them using the correct rods and cubes. If you're the first to correctly build the path, you keep the card. The first person with seven cards wins the game. iTrax is for two to four players.

Is It Fun?

The gameplay may be simple to learn, but building the paths with the correct rods and cubes can be challenging. You must correctly match the colors and rod sizes, and you can only use your eyes to help you determine what pieces you need. No building on the card or holding the pieces up to the card. This game really requires a good eye.

Who It’s For
