Imaginext City Big Rig & Robot Review (Fisher-Price)

What It Is

The City Big Rig & Robot is part of the Imaginext Rescue City toy line from Fisher-Price. With this chunky truck, preschoolers can take this rig and its cargo (a robot) on the road. Fold up the robot and snap its back onto one of two places on the truck's trailer bed. Then press one of the two yellow buttons of the rig's hood for different sound effects and phrases. Press the left button for lights and horn sounds and the button on the right to hear its driver say things such as, "This is Brad's Big Rig. I'm on my way to get the robot." The vehicle comes with one Imaginext figure with removable top apparel so kids can quickly change the figure's gear for a different job. Flip up the truck's top and place the figure inside and drive it around.

Is It Fun?

Overall this is a simple, yet fun toy truck for preschoolers to play with. However we think that the real fun play patterns of this truck is in its Action Tech feature, which unfortunately isn't recognized unless combined with the Rescue City Center. When it is, the playset recognizes this vehicle and gives it rescue orders, which we think helps expand the imaginative play of the toy.

Who It’s For

The Imaginext City Big Rig & Robot is for ages 3–8.

What To Be Aware Of

The Big Rig can also be used to haul other Rescue City vehicles, which are sold separately.

Two AA batteries are included but they operate in-store try-me features. We suggest replacing them before use.
