Sofia the First Review (Disney Press)

What It Is

Kids can learn all about Princess Sofia in the book Sofia the First, written by Catherine Hapka and illustrated by Grace Lee. If you're familiar with the show Sofia the First, then you'll be familiar with the story in this 40-page book. Sofia is an ordinary little girl who becomes a princess when her mother marries the king. But Sofia doesn't know how to be a princess. She doesn't even know how to dance, and the king has asked her to dance with him at the royal ball. For help, Sofia turns to the fairy teachers at her school, her new stepsister, and the castle's sorcerer. Not all of their advice works, but with some reassurance from a special princess visitor, Sofia learns what it takes to fit into her royal family and what it really means to be a princess.
