Magic Fun Dough Pirate Cove Review (RoseArt)

What It Is

RoseArt Magic Fun Dough Pirate Cove comes with a 10 piece playset which takes about 10 minutes to assemble. Pieces snap together easily. Once you've assembled the playset, you can move on to the "magical" component of the playset, which is the Magic Fun Dough. This compound has a more putty like texture and in part because of this unique compound, kids can add one of the 35 included magic art transfers to the Magic Fun Dough. The cutouts feature cute pirate people, parrots, cannons, pirate's treasure, and more. To apply, fill the water applicator with water, flatten some of the Magic Fun Dough into a flat smooth surface, and select your transfer. Peel off the tranfer's clear plastic film and apply face down to your dough. Think of it like applying a temporary tattoo. Rub the applicator tip over the design, squeezing gently. Hold the transfer press down on the design for about one minute. Peel back the paper and your transfer is now on the dough. You can then use one of the shape cutters or the sword plastic knife to cut out your design and add a display stand.

The playset also features additional features like a cannon extruder, which you can use to push out dough in different shapes, the press molds shaped like fish, swords, and more, or the book mold to press dough into the treasure chest to make coins. You can also place your character on the spinner stand and make it spin around.

Is It Fun?

Magic Fun Dough Pirate Cove is a playset that delivers many different types of play. The Magic Fun Dough is the real star of this playset, which puts an innovative spin on a classic play pattern. We think kids will have a lot of fun using the dough to transfer the cutouts, then using the pirate characters and playset for lots of imagined adventures.

Who It’s For

The RoseArt Magic Fun Dough Pirate Cove playset is for ages 3 and up. Younger kids will likely need some assistance in transferring the cutouts to the Magic Fun Dough.

What To Be Aware Of

When rolling out the Magic Fun Dough, make sure it's at least 1/4 inch thick.

Sometimes the larger figures have trouble staying upright in the display stands.

If you mess up or want to reuse the Magic Fun Dough, simply ball up the compound to erase your design.

The cannon extruder is sometimes difficult to push through, so younger kids may need help positioning the extruder to use.
