Edutab-Large Review (Jupiter Creations)

What It Is

The Edutab—Large is an electronic toy for preschoolers that is designed to look like a tablet, complete with pretend battery life and 3G network indicators. There are several buttons on this toy's static "home screen" meant to look like app buttons. Kids activate music, sounds, and games when they press the buttons.

There are four play mode buttons on the bottom. For Alphabet Learning Mode, press the Letters button. In this mode, when you press any of the letter buttons, you'll hear the name of that letter spoken aloud.

For Letter Learning Mode, press the Words button. In this mode, press the letter buttons to hear a word that starts with that letter. You can also press the number buttons to hear the number spoken aloud.

Press the Spelling button to enter Spelling & Counting Learning Mode. Press any number button or letter button to hear the number or word spelled out.

And kids can play games by pressing the Where Is? button. The Edutab will ask kids to find a word, letter, or number. If kids get it right, they'll hear a chime sound and the words, "That's correct!" If kids get it wrong, they'll hear a boing noise and the words, "Mistake. Try again."

If kids need to hear something repeated, just press the Repeat button. Kids can also press the colorful TV button or the piano button to hear music. And you can switch from English to Spanish by pressing the English/Español button.

Is It Fun?

This is a fun on-the-go learning toy for young kids. It helps preschoolers practice number, letter, and word recognition in both English and Spanish. Young kids will also like that it looks like the tablet their parents use.
