If your family is a fan of The Elf on the Shelf, now there is a new way to interact with this "Christmas tradition" character. In this game, based on the best-selling book, players actually get to hold the elf (a no-no with the original Elf on the Shelf) and move the elf around the house. The game plays like basic hide and seek. One player hides the elf, and the other players must find the elf. At random intervals, the elf will play "Jingle Bells" and talk to help players locate him. The first player to find the elf wins.
You can also play a different variation on the game by using the game's gift tokens and sleighs. Each player takes a sleigh and places it on the floor. Play the same as hide and seek, but when a player finds the elf, they get a gift token to put on their sleigh. The first player to get four tokens wins.
To make the game easier for younger players, the person who hides the elf places the North Pole token nearby to give players a hint that the elf is near. You can also use the High/Low cards to help younger players find the elf either up high on a shelf or low near the floor.
The game comes with The Elf on the Shelf game unit, four sleighs, 13 gift tokens, four high/low cards, and a North Pole token. It is for two to four players or teams.
This game gives families another way to play with their favorite elf. It's a fun and easy-to-play game for young kids during the holiday season. Kids will like that they get to hold this elf, something they can't do with the regular Elf on the Shelf character, and hear the elf talk. And for parents who spend months thinking up clever ways for their Elf on the Shelf to make its daily appearances during December, this game is a nice change of pace because the only thing you have to think about is where to hide the elf.
The Elf on the Shelf Musical Hide and Seek Game is for ages 3 and up.
