Digits in a Box is a challenging brain teaser puzzle. The set includes 10 plastic digits-0 to 9-in a clear plastic box. Dump them out on the table, mix them up, and then try to assemble them back into a cube so they'll fit back into the box and the lid will close flat.
This is the kind of puzzle we really like. It stimulates a lot of different types of problem-solving: visual, logical, relational, sequential, and so forth. The digits are more of a theme for the shapes more than having any real mathematical value, but the thinking required to solve this is an essential skill for any problem-solving situation. The colorful pieces are tactile, and the 2.5-inch cube is great for take-along play as well.
Digits in a Box is for ages 8 and up.
PlaSmart says that there are more than 4,000 different combinations that will work.
