Elmo’s Little Library Review (Random House)

What It Is

Elmo's Little Library is a collection of four board books starring Elmo that come in a handy storage and carrying case. The books are written by Sarah Albee, Constance Allen, and Deborah November with illustrations by Maggie Swanson, Tom Leigh, and Carol Nicklaus. Each book has 22 pages of brightly colored illustrations.

Elmo's Mother Goose has Elmo and his friends re-telling classic Mother Goose rhymes with a Sesame Street spin. Elmo's Tricky Tonque Twisters includes just that: tongue twisters. But these are about everyone's favorite Sesame Street characters. Elmo Says is inspired by the classic game of Simon Says and encourages kids to do what Elmo says, including tapping their toes and waddling like a duck. In Elmo's ABC Book, Elmo tries to decide what his favorite letter of the alphabet is by naming things he loves that begin with each letter.

Even though these books star Elmo, other favorite Sesame Street characters, including Bert, Ernie, Grover, and Zoe, are featured, too.

Is It Fun?

We think kids, especially Elmo and Sesame Street fans, will love the stories in this book collection. They are a great size for little hands and easy for kids to carry around in the sturdy little case.
