The tiny but highly sophisticated Hexbug robots are endlessly fascinating as they mimic the movements of real bugs. Innovation First has created all kinds of cool sets over the years, so where could they go next? How about up? The new Hexbug Nano V2 gravity-defying system features these completely new Hexbugs themselves that have a redesigned exoskeleton that has spines on the back as well as the traditional legs and work on a new powerful technology that lets them climb inside tubes that kids can build in any configuration. The Watch Tower set includes 51 pieces that kids can mix and match to make different tracks. The Hexbugs climb up and around and through the various tubes and stay in constant motion upside down or right-side up. It doesn't matter. If a Hexbug lands on its back, it will flip over by itself, but if kids get impatient, there's nothing to stop them from giving the Hexbug a helping hand. Other tracks and pieces are available and sold separately. This set comes with one Hexbug V2 robot.
For new or old Hexbug fans, this is an awesome set. Kids can challenge themselves to build different configurations and use the different accessories to change the paths. While this set comes with one Hexbug, we think kids are going to want more of both Hexbugs and sets to create an entire world of these amazing, can't-take-your-eyes-off-them critters.
The Hexbug Nano V2 Watch Tower is for ages 3 and up. It's particularly appropriate for science- and robotics-oriented kids, but most kids will get a kick out of watching them go through their extremely lifelike paces.
