LEGO City Coast Guard Patrol Review (LEGO)

What It Is

LEGO City Coast Guard Patrol is a 449-piece building set that lets kids build a patrol boat and dinghy that really float. There's a couple stranded in the sinking dinghy and three sharks with opening and closing mouths are swimming nearby. Kids can launch the submarine with spinning propeller and the helicopter from the Coast Guard Patrol Boat to get there fast and rescue the couple. Lower the helicopter's grappling hook to pick up the couple and pull them out of the dinghy. Kids can also pretend to launch water cannons at the sharks to scare them away. Kids will also build a lighthouse with rocks. This set includes six minifigures: pilot, captain, crew member, rescuer, and stricken man and woman. Accessories include a dog, a crab, two life preservers, two life jackets, a walkie-talkie, a hat with headphones, and an ice cream.

Is It Fun?

This building set features lots of detail and realistic parts that let kids build and play out an action-packed rescue on the water. Adding to the fun and realistic play is the fact that the boat and dinghy float, so kids can play out the water rescue in water when they're in the bathtub or pool. This set offers lots of opportunities for imaginative play.
