Candy Land Review (Hasbro)

What It Is

Hasbro has enhanced the classic Candy Land game with a new candy-shaped spinner, sweet player pieces (Mally Mallo, Giggly Gumdrop, Cutie Cone, and Twirly Girl), and imaginative illustrations with new destinations such as Lollipop Palace and Frosted Place. The rules of play are the same. Spin the spinner, move your player piece to where the spinner tells you, and be the first to arrive at King Kandy's castle to win. The game comes with four character movers, a label sheet, a gameboard, and a spinner with plastic arrow and arrow base. Candy Land is for two to four players.

Is It Fun?

Even with its new look and game pieces, the new Candy Land still features the whimsical and colorful illustrations that kids and parents will like. This sweet-looking game is just as fun to play as the original and a great way to introduce Candy Land to a new generation of kids.

Who It’s For

Candy Land is for ages 3 and up.

What To Be Aware Of

Adult assembly is required to attach the labels to the character movers and put together the spinner. This should only take a few minutes to do. You'll only have to do this assembly before the first time you play the game.

The pieces are larger than the spaces when placed on the board horizontally across the spaces rather than vertically, which may cause some confusion for younger players.
