The Kixi Mixi is a convertible kick scooter for preschoolers. This scooter goes from three wheels to two wheels to grow up with young riders. As a child's confidence and ability develop, parents can convert the Kixi Mixi from three wheels to a standard two-wheel scooter. The scooter features 100-percent aircraft-grade aluminum, large wheels for a smooth ride, and folding handlebars with foam grips. It is available in two color schemes: green and blue or pink, blue, and purple. Each is sold separately.
We like that this scooter can go from having three wheels to two wheels, offering a great introduction to riding a scooter for young kids and then continuing as a two-wheel scooter once kids get the hang of it. Preschoolers will love the bright colors of the Kixi Mixi and having their own scooter just like the big kids. The Kixi Mixi will boost balance and coordination while kids have fun and get active.
The Kixi Mixi is for ages 3 and up. There is a maximum weight limit of 45 pounds.
Adult assembly is required. It took us 25 minutes to set up the scooter with three wheels. The instructions were very easy to follow.
However, converting the scooter to two wheels is a little difficult, and the instructions are not very clear. The picture instructions make it seem like you have to loosen both axle nuts, when in fact, you only have to loosen one in order to slide out the axle and install the center-mounted wheel. But we had trouble getting either one of the axle nuts to loosen.
When kids ride the Kixi Mixi, make sure they are wearing protective gear, such as a helmet, elbow pads, and knee pads, which are all sold separately.
