Disney Planes Sky Track Challenge Review (Mattel)

What It Is

Kids can fly planes just like in the new Disney Planes movie with the Sky Track Challenge track set. This set comes with an exclusive supercharged Dusty Crophopper plane and five feet of track with obstacles, such as a mountain tunnel and crash zone. Attach the track set's special clamp and dual launchers to a table so that the planes fly down to the finish line. The planes clip into the track's universal plugs and can be launched for side-by-side racing action with speed and barrel rolls. Additional Disney Planes die-cast airplanes are sold separately. The first plane to complete the race is automatically diverted to the winner's circle with a giant shiny trophy triggering the checkered flag.

Is It Fun?

This playset is a fun way to bring the flying action from the movie to life. Kids will like recreating scenes from the movie or creating all-new adventures for Dusty Crophopper. Because this is all about racing, kids will definitely want to collect the other Disney Planes die-cast airplanes to use with this track set.

Who It’s For

The Disney Planes Sky Track Challenge is for Planes fans ages 5 and up.

What To Be Aware Of

Adult assembly is required. It took us 15 minutes to put together, and the instructions were easy to follow.

The set comes with only one Planes plane, so you'll have to buy a second one to be able to use the set as intended. However, it does come with two universal plugs, so you can use additional planes with it, or interchange any Planes planes, if you are collecting them.

Without buying additional planes, the repeat play value is limited.

The instructions specify certain parts of the track where you should stabilize the track by placing books or tape on top. Doing this will really help with the performance of the planes because the track isn't very sturdy.
