The Man of Steel Flight Speeders Superman Strike Ship, based on the movie Man of Steel, is designed so that Superman can fly into battle and save Metropolis. The cockpit of the ship can hold a 3.75-inch Superman action figure, sold separately. Fire the missile by pushing the Superman logo. The ship does include a special "flying" Superman figure. To make the figure fly, the directions tell you to put the figure onto the wing pack, place it on the ship, and rotate the propeller 90 degrees to hold it in place. Then turn the crank on the back until it's tight. Push the button above the crank and off Superman flies.
We were somewhat disappointed with this toy. After all the work and the amount of winding to set it up, you'd think you'd get a more dramatic flight. But it's actually fairly disappointing, and we were never able to get the figure to fly the 25 feet promised on the box even after testing two different toys. The age grading for this toy is 4 and up, but there is a lot of balancing for kids with small hands.
This is a good concept, and even the performance of the flying would be okay for younger kids if it weren't so cumbersome and frustrating for them to work.
The Man of Steel Flight Speeders Superman Strike Ship is for Superman fans ages 4 and up.
This toy didn't take very long to put together, but the instructions are all pictures, so take your time because the instructions can be confusing. An adult should assemble this because the pieces need to be snapped firmly in place so that the toy stays together.
