Baby Genius Rap & Tap One-Man Band Review (Tollytots)

What It Is

The Baby Genius Rap & Tap One-Man Band, from Jakks Pacific's Tollytots division, features the Baby Genius character "Tuneosaurus" Rex. Set Rex on a table (or flat surface) and turn him on to start the music. The toy comes with a special cymbal, and when you touch the cymbal to various touch points on the toy's base and on Rex, you'll hear different sounds. In musical instruments mode, each touch causes a musical instrument sound to play. In rapping mode, kids will hear Rex rap. And in silly sounds mode, each touch causes a silly sound to play. The toy also comes with a bonus Baby Genius CD with 10 songs on it.

Is It Fun?

Preschoolers will like hearing different instruments, silly sounds, and Tuneosaurus Rex rapping and singing when they interact with the Rap & Tap One-Man Band. Sometimes the toy makes the same sound over and over again, even though it's supposed to make a variety of sounds each time. This can be a little frustrating for kids who want to hear something different each time they tap one of the touch points.

Who It’s For

The Baby Genius Rap & Tap One-Man Band is for ages 2 and up.

What To Be Aware Of

Three AAA batteries are included, but they power the in-store try-me features. It's recommended that you replace the batteries before you play for best results. Also, make sure to turn the toy from Try Me mode to On in order to activate the full features.
